Three days with Zippy

It's been a busy three days. Zippy is getting used to his new home, and we are getting used to him.

Zippy didn't do too bad the first day. He pees a lot!! It's not unusual for him to go twice outside, come inside, take three gulps of water, walk three steps, and pee again. He cried the first night, and Heather had a hard time getting to sleep.

I stayed with him the second day. We went to go see the neighbors so he could be introduced to their dog Max. He tuckers out pretty quickly, so when we came home he took a nap. The second night, Heather put a CD in by his crate and had it on repeat all night. He didn't make a sound until 5:30, which is when he usually wakes up. When I got up with him, I took him outside to do his business. We walked into the back yard, and Schmuck, my cat, followed us. We took a short walk down the street, and, sure enough, Schmuck followed us again. He must be feeling left out.

The girls decided to get up with Zippy once do take the morning potty job. Here's a picture of their three butts as Zippy looks for the perfect spot. They look so funny out in their PJ's w/ their dog so early in the morning.

We took Zippy to see his brother, Smoke, at my brother's house. They got along ok, but soon started to roughhouse. Smoke decided he was tired, but Zippy wouldn't leave him alone. In the end, they ended up sleeping by each other.

For the second night in a row, Zippy went all night w/o crying, so he is doing better.
